If you have a system that you want to run the SFC /scannow command and all you get back is system repair "flag" set so you keep getting "There is a system repair pending which requires reboot to complete. Restart ..." . The problem is that you cannot boot into windows normally and keeps reseting, and only giving the option to start a system repair. Then get to a command prompt and force a SFC with the following command
SFC /SCANNOW /OFFBOOTDIR=C:\ /OFFWINDIR=C:\Windows
First attempt was to remove the flag by using
dism.exe /image:C:\ /cleanup-image /revertpendingactions
but it did not allow the sfc to run, worth looking at though.
If the SFC wont run and cannot find image then the Windows drive may have moved. On the Lenovo on which this had happened the windows drive changed to D:
